DESCRIPTION OF THE POTTERY INTRODUCTORY EXPERIENCE

As an introduction to the art of pottery, I will share my artistic approach and introduce you to my unique works of art displayed in the art gallery. I will take you on a tour of my production studio to show you the different stages of the process of making a ceramic piece.

Next, I will demonstrate kneading, centering, and throwing clay. Finally, I will invite you to get in touch with the material and put the demonstrated techniques into practice to try throwing a clay bowl on a wheel that will be assigned to you individually. I will be available to assist and guide you throughout the creative process.

Since this introductory experience is short, we will throw clay that does not require firing, and you will be able to take home the pieces you threw immediately at the end of the workshop. (I will provide the necessary packaging so that you can transport your bowl home safely.)

I look forward to welcoming you and sharing my passion!

What our clients say about this experience:

I had the best time during my intro to pottery course. Michelle is very knowledgeable, very patient, overall a great teacher! As proud as I am of my newly acquired skills, I also gained a whole lot more appreciation for the art. (Maria Janvier 2024)

Michelle was excellent! She answered all our questions and was very patient with us! We did not feel rushed and we enjoyed the proceed of learning this art! thank you (Renée février 2023)

Michelle is an amazing instructor. All three of us (myself and 2 older-elementary-aged children) had a wonderful time. Michelle was able to instruct us through the whole process from initial processing to throwing our first pieces on the wheel. She is clearly a knowledgeable, experienced, and patient instructor; with each of us she could see where we were on our piece, and taught us individually how to hold our hands to shape and correct it. (That probably sounds simple! but pottery is hard and she knew how to demonstrate and instruct so we could be successful, and very pleased with our efforts  And of course she is an incredibly talented artist--we enjoyed exploring her gallery, too! (Michael octobre 2022)

Michelle was a great host, she has a very structured method and she patiently guides you through the steps, so that at the end of the session you end up with a beautiful piece of pottery, made by you! Great teacher and artist. (Maximova july 2023)

Michelle is very knowledgeable and passionate about pottery! You are bound to leave with having learned a new skill and might even be impressed with creating something you never realized you could have created. (Carley february 2023)
