DESCRIPTION:
Would you like to learn how to transfer an image, text, or photograph to create a unique and personalized artistic design? This advanced workshop is designed for artists wishing to deepen their knowledge of surface treatments in an intimate setting. It involves learning decalcomania and overglaze porcelain painting techniques. It aims to encourage the sharing of inspiration and to stimulate the exploration of new avenues.
What is a ceramic decal?
A ceramic decal is a transfer paper on which an image is printed. This paper receives a special treatment so that the design can be transferred onto a glazed ceramic object. A refractory paint is used and must be fired in a kiln to permanently fix the decal to the object.
During this exclusive workshop, I will invite you to choose an existing decal or assist you in designing a custom one from an image of your choice using digital imaging, graphic design, and printing techniques. Then, I will guide you in cutting out and applying your decal to your piece. I will then help you add a unique and colorful artistic touch to your design by applying overglaze porcelain paints with a brush.
During this training, I provide all the specialized tools and equipment required, a white glazed porcelain mug or bowl (which you can take home as a souvenir of your visit to Petite-Nation), porcelain paints, scanning or graphic design layout services for a personalized photo of your choice, and a third-firing service (you can take your piece home 30 minutes after the workshop).
I look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you and share my passion for various decorating techniques!
PREREQUISITES:
To participate in this workshop, we suggest bringing at least two of your white or light-colored glazed porcelain pieces. Vases, bowls, sculptures, plaques, and plates are well suited for exploring these techniques. (If you do not have a current personal production, you will be able to use a commercial porcelain mug that will be made available to you during the workshop).
TERMS:
Receipt of your full payment officially confirms your registration for this training.
Should the workshop be unable to take place due to inclement weather or another factor beyond our control, we will cancel the event and automatically refund you the full amount of your registration fees paid in advance.
