PACKAGES FOR INDEPENDENT PRACTICE SESSIONS IN OPEN STUDIOS

Come refine your ceramic art practice independently in the studio!

We offer access to the workstations in our studio, which is equipped with specialized equipment to support the practice and integration of techniques taught in our courses, the exploration of new interdisciplinary avenues, innovation, and the development of contemporary artistic expression. This offer is exclusively available to our students who have previously received adequate technical training, enabling them to use the creative spaces and specialized work equipment independently and safely.

AVAILABLE ACCESS TIMES:

Four-hour blocks of consecutive independent open studio practice are available by reservation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

AVAILABLE WORKSTATIONS:

THROWING STATION

The studio's throwing stations are located in the large clay throwing and modeling room. This large, well-lit open-concept space features large windows overlooking the surrounding nature. Booking a throwing station gives you access to: an electric wheel, an adjustable throwing stool, throwing tools (hand tools, Giffingrip, chamois, ribs, sponges, etc.), a wedging table, a shaping table, a library of technical reference documents, a cleaning station with a large industrial sink, a bathroom, parking, a Wi-Fi internet connection, and a hook for hanging your coat.

MODELING STATION

The studio's modeling stations are located in the large clay throwing and modeling room. This large, well-lit open-concept space features large windows overlooking the surrounding nature. Booking a modeling station gives you access to an individual shaping table, an adjustable stool, a sculptor's saddle, a pedestal wheel, a wedging table, a slab roller, a cleaning station with a large industrial sink, hand-building tools (hand tools, rollers, ribs, trimming tools, sponges, etc.), technical reference documents, a computer research station, a bathroom, parking, and a high-speed wireless internet connection.

GLAZING STATION

The studio's glazing stations are located in the laboratory room. This room is adjacent to the throwing and modeling room. Booking a glazing station gives you access to the studio's glaze baths. It also gives you access to a work table, an adjustable stool, a pedestal wheel, a cleaning station with a large industrial sink, a large rotary sieve, a digital scale with a platform, electric mixers, and hand glazing tools (tweezers, brushes, squeeze bottles, sieves, chamois, dipping tanks, etc.), technical reference documents, a computer research station, a bathroom, parking, and a high-speed wireless internet connection. Glaze fees are charged separately based on the space occupied by the glazed pieces in the kiln during firing. Fees for minerals used are charged à la carte based on the weight of the quantities used.

BOOK A PRACTICE PERIOD

OPEN STUDIO INDEPENDENT PRACTICE PERIOD PACKAGES provide a credit that can be applied to the reservation of the number of independent practice sessions of your choice. This is valid for the time slots offered that match your availability, within a one-year period from the date of purchase of your package.

Please note that one-time access packages to workstations for practice do not include designated individual storage space for permanently storing your personal belongings at the studio. To benefit from individual storage space allowing you to store your materials and works in progress at the studio, you must purchase an additional monthly membership package that includes the locker and storage shelves you need.

ELIGIBILITY

To book, you must be one of our students or an experienced visual artist or craftsperson who has previously received adequate technical training, enabling you to use the creative spaces and specialized work equipment independently and safely. This is without the need for technical assistance, except for coaching or training sessions, while respecting the tranquility of the premises and the studio's operating and safety rules.

If you do not have the experience required to use the available spaces and equipment independently, but would like access to them, we invite you to book a personalized coaching session during which we will provide you with the knowledge enabling you to acquire the independence necessary to book access periods to the workstations of your choice at the Atelier Galerie d'art Solart.
